Parking near Old Trafford: practical matchday planning

Old Trafford is Manchester United's football stadium in Trafford, Greater Manchester. If you are travelling for a match or major event, check that your destination is the football stadium, not Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground, which is a different venue in the same wider area.

Check official Manchester United travel information

Start with Manchester United's official website and its latest visiting and getting-to-Old-Trafford information for your event. Matchday road controls, access points and permitted parking options may differ from normal days.

Public transport may be a sensible alternative to driving close to the stadium. Consider the journey to the ground, the time you expect to leave and accessibility requirements. Check live transport information before departure.

Choosing a legal parking space

Where you drive, compare legitimate car parks and private spaces based on more than proximity. Check the actual walking route and the operator's entry and exit instructions. Do not use residential permit bays, pavements or spaces that obstruct dropped kerbs. Temporary restrictions and enforcement may be in force near large events.

Before requesting any private parking booking, check:

• The exact area and whether the space is authorised for visitor parking.
• Vehicle length, width, height and any gate or barrier limits.
• When you may arrive and how long you may remain after full-time.
• Whether the host has accepted the request and payment is confirmed.
• The overall price, including any separately stated platform service fee.

A PrePark editorial guide is not evidence that a parking space is presently available at Old Trafford. Check actual marketplace listings before making travel arrangements.

Returning after the match

Crowds may leave simultaneously, so think about safe walking routes and potential road diversions. If you are parking at a private gated site, verify the host's closing arrangements in advance rather than assuming 24-hour access.

Could you host parking near Old Trafford?

If you control a driveway or suitable car park within a practical travel distance, consider whether you are entitled to offer it on matchdays. Confirm the legal right to let the space, insurance and any parking or planning restrictions; check that vehicle and pedestrian access can be managed safely.

PrePark lets UK hosts set prices and availability and retains no host commission. Listing is free, though enquiries and bookings are not guaranteed. Read the driveway hosting guide and List Your Space.
